The Masons, The Order of the Eastern Star, and Rainbow played a prominent role in our family. This led to an early awareness of the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The transformative medical care provided at these hospitals was clear even at a young age during my first visit to a Burn Hospital.
Even more so, it reinforced the theme of kindness with which I was raised.
These hospitals are examples of the best of what our society has to offer.
