Limitless and immortal, the waters are the beginning and end of all things on earth.

Heinrich Zimmer

My love of the ocean is as old as my memories.

There is nothing so lovely as the rhythm of a quiet life on the shore.

Daily life timed by the tides, watching the waves crash, and the intoxicating salt air bring a peace rivaled only by the depth of old growth forests.

I was raised by parents with a similar love of coastal life, but a keen sense of the danger that accompanied the beauty of life on the sea.

As sea levels rise, there will be disasters on individual and community levels with regard to humans, animals, and the environment.

The heartbreak and risk of the rising seas are universal, but will impact the poor disproportionately.
